About the project
Overview
Nutrition is an app based design made so that people understand the nutrition they are receiving from the foods they eat at restaurants. Our mission is to help users across the world to choose healthy meals at restaurants so that everyone can lead a better lifestyle.
Details
Summary
I conducted online research, as well as in person research. Many people, such as avid gym enthusiasts, were thrilled to hear of an app that helped you to track your nutrition at restaurants.
Connectivity/ Accessibility
People interviewed stated that they were frustrated when ordering on a restaurant's site. This was due to the fact that they have inaccurate nutrition information or none at all.
Usability
Users were virtually able to get to their desired portion of the app in around 4-6 taps, which made them happy.
Familiarity
The app was similar to layouts that have been used in apps before, allowing the user to already have comfort in the layout.
Competitors
The major competitors we faced were 2 direct: Eat This Much and MyFitnessPal, and of course 2 indirect: Papa Johns and Raising Canes.
What the competitors lacked
What the competitors lacked was an accurate nutrition chart, especially one based off of the menu of a restaurant, and a daily nutrition meter. This daily nutrition meter was pertinent in differentiating our app from the rest.
