Most Veterinary websites do not have sections a user can easily fill for a pet, or easily navigable websites altogether.
Create a site one can easily fill out information for their pet that is free of user bias, allowing all users to easily navigate through it.
1) Application had to be quick so that users to not feel fatigued attempting to sign their pet up for a visit.
2) Website had to be easy to navigate through because of all of the information needed from the user can cause some confusion.
While conducting online and in person interviews, we were able to find a common ground that many users were frustrated with. This frustration was rooted in the lack of usability throughout veterinary websites.
Users interviewed were frustrated in the lack of guidance within veterinary websites. This was due to the fact that they were getting lost in a sea of unnecessary information.
Users were able to navigate quite easily through the app with no problems at all. This was typically a 5-7 step process.
During the design process, we attempted to keep it similar to a veterinary website visually, yet easier to use component wise.
The competitors I looked to were all direct: Murphy Road Animal Hospital, Holland Veterinary Services, and Metro Paws Animal Hospital.
The website we made is more user-friendly, taking into account users that may have more of a challenge getting through the sign up process. We made it much easier to sign up.
Typically a low-fidelity portion of the project would show without pictures and words. Yet, we had an idea in mind and to truly grasp it, words and pictures were needed. It was definitely worth going above and beyond.
This is the high fidelity portion of the website. This shows you the user flow through the website and is set up to visually simulate how the website would flow as well.
From this project, Adobe XD was introduced to me. Realizing its potential, the ideas towards this amazing website were born. I was able to learn the benefits of using a flow chart and how Adobe XD is an amazing software.
